nice And lovely buffet place to enjoy breakfast with Disney characters. Just expensive.

They reduced the size of the cornbread! How dare they! Also a buffet, fine I guess but can you at least have better selections? Also we tried entering during a holiday but they weren't accepting walk-ins, disappointing

Had a wonderful experience at the breakfast brunch. As a vegetarian, a lot of the character dining options at the resort are overpriced for such a limited menu, but this was worth it. Delicious food, my favorite was a tie between the caramel French toast and the chilequiles (pretty spicy!), and refills on coffee always sit well with me. We were celebrating two birthdays and our server made it special by bringing a cupcake for each person we were celebrating and sang a little song. Loved the characters that came by to say hi to the kids and play. Will definitely go back for breakfast again!

Didn't realize it was only a buffet now. This used to be my absolute favorite restaurant, I practically grew up here and spent every birthday dinner eating at the place. But now it's a buffet, and a pricey one at that. The were able to squeeze our reservation in, and for that I'm grateful, but for $40/person the food wasn't that great. There wasn't the selection, variety, quality, nor speciality that explains the price. It was still very good food, but I could have eaten in the park for much, much cheaper.

Five stars for breakfast and the attention the cast members pay to all the kids-the singing, hugs and autograph signing is a load of fun. The dinner selection was somewhat lacking some of the choices I expected, and attention to quality control was a bit short of stellar.

( All my reviews are overall) We had two waiters and both were very good. Communication was on point and the drinks were fantastic. We all had the buffet and it was super good. Salads, pasta, Mac and cheese, steak, salmon, desserts, and perfectly made and greatly seasoned. Did wait a moment even with reservation, but it was crowded. Inside there is space. Reservation is highly recommend. One of the better buffets at Disneyland.

Really pricey, even by Disney standards, especially given there isn't a ton of variety. Food is good and you'll get plenty to eat in a fun environment.

this is a review for the non-buffet, non-character lunch. came here for lunch. it's a 2 minute walk (if that) from california adventure, and it's a much much better option to eat here than eating in the park. it's less crowded, easier to relax and enjoy your food, and the price is comparable to table service in the parks. i had the burger, medium rare. it was really good. the bread that is served a priori is really good. the decor, it's disney, so you know it's good

Wow. Great food. Great value (for Disney). Kid friendly, and excellent staff. Mary, our host, engaged my daughters in Disney banter, renewing smiles on their tired and hungry faces and our waitress was very attentive. The salad bar was fresh and well curated. The prime rib, roast and salmon were perfectly cooked and well portioned. The desert selection was simple, but delicious. Pizza, macaroni cheese, chicken nuggets and fresh fruits are staples for the kids. Everybody left happy and full. The theme of the restaurant led to thoughtful discussion for the adults as well. All around great meal stop.

Though it is quite expensive, I found the food, characters, and the atmosphere to be worth the $34 for breakfast. I was greeted by each character and they all brought a smile to my face. Staff are just a nice and mine was kind enough to bring me a small bowl or caramel sauce for my toast. Speaking of toast, OMG!!! TRY THE CARAMEL FRENCH TOAST!!! it is insanely good. Great place, great staff, but expensive.

Fabulous! The food was excellent, even with a limited selection, and the characters were lovely. We came here with two adults, a child and a baby and were worried the characters would be too busy to spend much time with each family. But we got to see each character several times and they were so engaging and really spent time with the kids. Yes it’s a bit pricey, but the value is with the characters and seeing how much they enjoyed spending time with them.

My kids loved the food and presence of the characters

This is a great place to take the family before heading out into the Disneyland parks! The food is way better than standard buffet food! They have the added benefit of having Disney characters roaming through the dining room greeting and spending a fair amount of time at each table. The kids love it, whether they're five or 25 like my own! I have eaten other meals there that were ordered from the menu such as dinner. It was also excellent! The biggest issue is trying to get in. If you are interested, send someone over to get on the list. Then take your beeper and head into the Grand California to sit by the fireplace or in their bar lounge to have a drink.

We came here for my sons birthday and we truly enjoyed having all the characters come up to our table and most of all spent almost 5 minutes making my kids laugh so that was fun the food was good buffet style breakfast just a little fact characters only come out during breakfast time. Mickey waffles were awesome and you can get omelettes made to order. I wish it was cheaper though!! 130 for 4 people was a lot!

Lunch 10/29:Cost $248 with tip. 4 adult prices and 1 Child. I'd do it again for the character experience. If the food was great, I would of gave it 5 stars. PRO: Felt magical!!! AMAZING characters interaction. Not crowded, great staff. Not rushed to leave. Kids could get involved in the parade. Got plenty of pics. CONS: Food wasn't amazing but ok.

Beautiful restaurant. It's inside the Grand Californian resort and the elegance of the resort pours into this restaurant in addition to the fun adventure theme. He characters came to the tables and spent time with the kiddos, it was really cute. Loved the food, went during brunch so we got lunch and breakfast buffet. Gluten free, vegan and dairy free options available! Loved the mickey waffles! Very happy we came here and a recommend!

Better than most buffets, especially for dinner. This is a picture of my plate from the breakfast buffet. They have fruits and yogurts and a create your own omelet, lovely pastries as well as usual breakfast fare. This buffet includes visits from some favorite Disney characters.

Great dinner buffet. The Pork belly and Corn chowder soup were delicious.

As far as Disney dining this is one of my family's favorites. It is fairly inexpensive (in disney terms), about $35 a person. The buffet has never disappointed, but make sure you make a reservation or you could wait upwards of half an hour.

The pizza is amazing 5 stars!

We love coming to Storytellers at least once when we travel to Cali! We love their buffet and all the options they have. We just ate the Thanksgiving buffet and it was so good! The staff is also very friendly, efficient, and helpful!

Great food great service. Had a great meal

Pricey but meeting the characters made it totally worth it. Also they do this parade with the kids through the Resturant, I thought it was adorable.

Wow. OK food. Not great value (even for Disney). Decent staff. The salad bar was fresh and well curated. The prime rib, roast and salmon were cooked well. The desert selection was but OK but not kid friendly, lots of tarts and complex deserts that kids may not enjoyd. Pizza, macaroni cheese, chicken nuggets and fresh fruits are staples for the kids, but the versions here all had adult like complex ingredients. The theme of the restaurant is wonderful. All around a good one time meal stop. EXTREMELY expensive even for Disney. The selections are somewhat limited. For out family of two adults and two children at dinnertime was $219.00 and we had no adult drinks.

OMG not enough words to describe how utterly magical this was! We took our baby girl for her first birthday just on Tuesday and it was not crowded and the characters spent up to ten minutes at a time at our table the whole time! Food was awesome! Everyone was amazing and she would cry out when they left each time as she loved them so much! Disney has really outdone themselves with this incredible experience and we are going to do it again next month as it was outstanding and I really just adored it as did my husband and baby girl!!!!!

Went there for 1:30 brunch. Two adults taking a break from the park. Paid $47 each. We thought the food was tasty and good quality. Breakfast offerings included premade bagels with lox...yum. the sausage was chicken and was very good.Lunch had tender prime rib. The Mexican food had shredded beef, not ground beef like most buffets. Breakfast and dessert pastries were high quality. Service was excellent. We didn't go for the critters but wound up getting some fun photos and videos. They were great about taking their time and including you, even if you are not a kid.We ate so much it wound up being our lunch and dinner so it was well worth it.Only four stars because the selection was limited.

Expensive. The food is buffet, but good quality. It is kind of brunchy. It's catered towards younger children as they have characters wandering around and meeting children. Definitely a special occasion type place. Service is wonderful. It's pricey though.
Raul Cota
Busy place, but one of the better breakfast buffets I have tried. Mountains of bacon and Mickey waffles were highlights. I was pleasant surprised at their bagel toppings, I made myself a salmon and lox bagel.
Joseph J
Clean, friendly and a nice selection offered in the buffet. The omelette bar is really nice. The service is prompt. The characters visit all areas of the restaurant and take pictures and interact with the kids and families. This is a nice place to visit with the kids.
Lee Minett
All you can eat buffet with good service but poor selection. We always make a reservation for Christmas eve but were disappointed that there were no steamed vegetables. The turkey and beef were bland and dry (understandable for the price) but who wants salad with their Christmas meal?! Desert selection was also not great. I do love how they play fast-paced music to assist with the turnover of patrons.

Fun environment and good food. You are paying $$$ for the character experience. (Note: kids over 10 are adult price). We did the brunch and they had a good variety of foods that our kids liked. In my opinion, the value is in the personal encounters with the characters.

We had such a great time at the Character Breakfast. We went on a quiet Wednesday morning in January and hardly anyone was there. The characters spent tons of time at each table and did silly things like play jokes on the servers. I witnessed a little girl and Mickey just playing hot wheels cars together for a long time. It was all a really great experience especially if you have little kids that want more than a quick picture and a hug from Mickey. Our group was able to have Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto all in one photo! The food was great too! Traditional Disney breakfast buffet with a bit of a Mexican twist. I really enjoyed the Chilaquiles! Also if you go a little later in the morning you can catch it in between breakfast and lunch and enjoy both!

The food here is okay. They served breakfast food even though we went during lunch hours. The real perk is the experience. You will pay more for the meal because of the character that comes out and visits you at your table while you dine. Seeing the looks on my kids faces when Minnie or Mickey walks around is priceless. It's worth the price to create the memories. You really can't beat this family atmosphere.

Wow! On a whim while at Downtown Disney, we went to Storytellers for lunch. We absolutely loved it! Such a nice restaurant. Perfect ambiance and beautifully decorated. The wait staff was absolutely fantastic. The menu was perfect. My husband's Cobb salad was gourmet. Next time we go back to Disneyland, we will definitely go again. I just can't say enough about how wonderful it was!!

I celebrated my PhD this evening in this delicious restaurant. Well it was a superb evening and the venue was surely the reason for the fruitful celebration. The waiters contributed in a pleasant manner, the cooking was great and my buddies were extremely happy. We shall definitely visit again for more events. thanks very much.

We went to Stoyteller's Cafe for breakfast while staying at the hotel. I liked the atmosphere - it definitely felt of Disney magic. My five year old loved meeting all the characters, we brought an autograph book for them all to sign. The food was tasty, however, there was not much of a selection.
Matthew Sornig
We did the character breakfast buffet at Storyteller's Cafe. The little ones loved seeing the characters and they were generous with their time. Each character (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale) was patient and welcoming to two little boys who just adore them all. We had a great time and food was good too.
Duan Scott
Great buffet. Great disney touch. Buffet had both breakfast items and lunch items. The shrimp and grits and the French toast were both great! The characters spent far more time with us than they would in the park. It was a lot of fun.
